Terry J. Heinrichs

Terry co-founded 18Forty8 Private Wealth in 2022, following a nearly 30-year career at Merrill, where he worked as a relationship manager for many high-net-worth individuals and families. Terry takes a truly client-centered approach in providing strategic guidance and objective advice that is informed by his experience and grounded by his values.

Terry takes great pride in building meaningful relationships with business executives, owners of privately held businesses, collegiate sports coaches, and professional athletes. As thoughtful listener, Terry also offers keen insight to help widows and widowers make informed decisions about their financial futures.

Terry earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, and a Master’s degree in Finance and Investments from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) and Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor™ designations. He was named to the Forbes “Best-In-State” Wealth Advisors list in 2020.

Active in his community, Terry serves as a Trustee for the United Way of Dane County Foundation as well as serving on its Finance Committee. Additionally, he is a member of the Finance Committee for the Friends of PBS Wisconsin; the Investment Committee for the Rotary Club of Madison Foundation; and a Finance Council Member for Queen of Peace Parish. Previously, he has served on the Boards of Directors for PBS Wisconsin and the Rotary Club of Madison. 

Terry and his wife, Liz, have two adult children, Tess and Ellie, and live in Madison. He enjoys spending time with family when we get the chance. Otherwise, he can be found managing their woods, enjoying sports car racing, watching UW sports and kicking back with some music.
